This Privacy Policy describes how "What Is My Rashi?" (WIMR, "we," "us," or "our"), a Vedic Astrology Calculator, handles your information. WIMR is designed from the ground up to respect your privacy and provide a serverless, minimal-impact experience. This policy applies to the WIMR mobile application.

1. No Data Collection (Serverless & Offline Operation)

The core function of WIMR is to provide offline Vedic calculations. We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal, non-personal, or sensitive user data on any external servers. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Name, Birth Date, Birth Time, and Birth Location.

  • Astrological charts or calculated results.

  • Contact information or account credentials.

All inputs required for your Rashi calculation are processed entirely on your device and are cleared immediately after the calculation is complete. Your data never leaves your device.

2. Minimal Server Interaction for Functionality

WIMR uses one external service for a specific, necessary function:

  • City Selection: To make inputting your birth location convenient, WIMR uses the OpenStreetMap Nominatim API (https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/) to search for cities. When you type a city name, this single text query is sent to the Nominatim server to provide suggestions. No personal information (like your IP address or birth data) is linked to this query. Once a city is selected, its latitude and longitude are stored locally for the calculation.

3. Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)

To keep WIMR free for all users, we integrate with Google AdMob for displaying minimal, non-intrusive advertisements. AdMob is a third-party service provider that may collect information used to identify you, such as your advertising ID or device identifiers. WIMR uses AdMob in a minimal capacity.

4. Voluntary Donations via External UPI

WIMR allows voluntary donations via an in-app UPI QR code. This mechanism is purely passive.

  • The transaction is handled entirely by your own preferred external payment application (e.g., Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm).

  • WIMR does not process, receive, see, or store any of your financial information or transaction details. The "About WIMR" section provides a convenience button to copy the developer's UPI ID.

5. Data Retention

WIMR does not store any of your data. The inputs and results are deleted automatically after you navigate away from the results screen. We have no access to the calculations.

6. Children's Privacy

WIMR does not collect any data, including data from children under the age of 13. The application is safe for all users.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the application. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any updates.
